My Passion for Food
I have enjoyed cooking since I was a child. I have always loved experimenting, trying new recipes, sampling foods from other cultures, and cooking for my family. Since having children, it has been amazing to see just how many processed snacks there are for kids. Some of my son's favorites include Graham crackers, Cheez-its, Goldfish, granola bars, and fruit snacks. I started to get nervous when I looked at the backs of the containers and saw all of these ingredients that I had never heard of and couldn't begin to pronounce. It was then that I decided I was going to be much more intentional about the foods that I put in front of my kids. I have been making a diligent effort to make the majority of their snacks rather than buy. They love them, I know what is going into their mouths, and I feel like I am helping to keep them more healthy in the long run. I hope that this website will serve as a resource for parents and family members looking for yummy, easy, and healthy snacks for children. These snacks probably will not end up cheaper than the pre-made items in the store. However, I can promise they are healthier and better for you child. Some of them are a little time consuming but you can make ahead on the weekends and have snacks ready for the entire week. Enjoy!
